    About the artist

Growing up in East Berlin, Edda Mann experienced the Wende/
collapse of the GDR in Berlin at the age of nine and left her mother's house young. She follows her dream and initially studies 2003 at the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK) and continues her art studies in free painting at the renowned Städelschule in Frankfurt a. Main in the class of Christa Näher.
With the birth of her son 2005, Edda Mann's focus changes from liberal arts and she turns to a new, different applied art form: fashion design. After training as a fashion tailor, she continued to develop her own signature as a costume designer in several dance, theater and film productions. From 2012 to 2018 she runs her own store in Berlin Mitte, the "KONK", where she offered unique fashion, jewelry and accessories from independent, regional and sustainably produced labels.
The birth of her daughter and the roller coaster of life marked Edda Mann's way back to painting in 2020.
"I love people and nature. The forest is where I feel I belong. In Botswana so small that it already feels good again and in the Negev Desert simply at home in me."
