"Why is it always mimicry?" ist eine fortlaufende Serie von Kooperationen zwischen eigener Malerei und künstlicher Intelligenz. Die auf Banner gedruckten Bilder wurden durch Finetuning-Prozesse erstellt. Zur Betrachtung bekam das künstliche neuronale Netzwerk die Malerei eines auf einer Blume ruhenden, träumenden Katers zwischen gotischer Architektur. Der Traum des Katers wird weitergesponnen. In der Serie wird die Entwicklungsgeschwindigkeit von neuronalen Netzwerken zur Bilderzeugung spürbar.

About the artist

Linda Marwan studied at the HBK Braunschweig and the HGB Leipzig where she received her Diploma in 2019. She lives and works in Leipzig.
Stipends include: Kunstverein Röderhof e.V (2020), "Denkzeit Stipendium" from the KDFS (2020) and the stipend for "Digitale Vermittlungsformate" from Deutscher Künstlerbund (2022) that supports the creation of digital works. In 2022 she was a local participant at the PILOTENKÜCHE International Art Program in Leipzig.
