Humatic is a dynamically changing team of creatives, represented by founder Christian Graupner aka VOOV. Humatic publishes the results of experimental research in the areas of conceptual activities, digital image and sound media and performance at irregular intervals. The so-called Humatic Re_Performance Series [H_RP] have attracted international attention with works such as “MindBox”, “MNM”, “ManuFact” and “Love Of Metals”. Currently the team is concentrating on paper work series and is on publications on the own AV label.humatic.net.
Some of the pieces deal with explosive topics such as violence, religion and the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Above all, HUMATIC opens up a wide associative space for the audience. Humatic likes to follow colleague Ulf Langheinrich's thesis that a good topic does not necessarily make a good work.
Christian Graupner studied graphics and drawing with Jürgen Brodwolf and taught himself music and media skills. He was a guest artist at the ZKM, gave guest lectures at IRCAM, at the HGKZ Zurich, at the design schools FH Potsdam and Hanover, at the Merz Academy and others. In his musical and media work he worked with protagonists of the “Geniale Dilletanten” of the Berlin electronic music scene, including members of Einstreichen Neuhäusern, Sprung aus den Wolken, DAF, Alphaville, Mieko Suzuki and many more. His soundtrack album Deutschfieber is considered a milestone in ambient music.
