Jan Brokof is a visual artist, set designer and theater maker from Schwedt/O.
After studying fine arts at the HfBK Dresden, he was a master student of Professor Ralf Kerbach. He received the Marion Ermer Prize, the Arras Prize for Art and Culture, the working scholarship from the Federal Art Fund Foundation and the Otto Dix Prize. Exhibitions in the Gropiusbau, the Kupferstichkabinett Dresden, the Folkwang Museum Essen, the Donation House Museum Reutlingen and the Leonhardi Museum Dresden He exhibited in solo shows and group projects in Brazil, Taiwan, France, Poland and the Netherlands.
Since 2010 he has been developing stage designs for, among others, andcompany&Co Fatzer-Brasil, (HAU 2010), Dr. Fruit and the Vegetables, (as part of the major Tempelhof World Exhibition, HAU 2012), Orpheus in the Upper World, (HAU 2014), Colonia Digital, (HAU 2018), 1989 the Great Disintegration, (HAU 2019), for She She Pop Shame Shame Shame (HAU 2018).
In 2017 he developed the theater project Tropical Healing in Amsterdam with Joachim Robbrecht and dewärme Winkel. In 2020 he created his first own theater work C4L - Cannibal 4 Live (delivery Theater) with Ballhaus Ost. In 2032 the video soap opera Tele-Visões MundoBraz was created.
