Frank Diersch was born in East Berlin in 1965, completed an apprenticeship as a specialist in reprographics and studied at the Technical College for Advertising and Design in Berlin under Manfred Paul and Bodo Müller from 1985 to 1987. He was prevented from continuing his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts in 1988 for political reasons. His daughter Nora was born in 1990. From 1987 to 1990, he worked at Galerie Mitte in Berlin. From 1993 to 1995, he was a master student under Prof. Dieter Goltzsche and received a studio scholarship at Pariser Platz at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. His daughter Julie was born in 2005. Founded the community radio station Radio Woltersdorf (BFR) with Thomas Müller in 2016, founded Studio für Radio + Grafik Woltersdorf in 2020, and Radio Industry, a festival for art and contemporary culture, in 2021.
Since 2005, teaching assignments at the Berlin Weissensee School of Art, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Bergische University Wuppertal, Hamburg University of Fine Arts, Berlin University of the Arts.
1998 Egmont Schaefer Prize for Drawing, 2016 Art Promotion Prize of the State of Brandenburg, 2016 Pirosmani Scholarship and residency in Georgia, 2018 and 2024 Brandenburg Art Prize, 2021 Working Scholarship from the Kunstfonds Foundation, 2025 nominated with Team Radio Industry for the competition for the Berlin monastery ruins.
Works can be found in public and private collections in Germany and abroad. Frank Diersch lives and works as an artist, lecturer, curator and radio producer in Woltersdorf.
